A vessel can be bareboat chartered into the Kiribati Ship Registry and fly the Kiribati flag, which it will then have the full privileges of a Kiribati vessel and comply fully with rules and regulations as stipulated in the Kiribati Merchant Shipping Act.
Bareboat Charter-In Registration is valid for 2 years or the duration of the bareboat charter agreement whichever is earlier. This may be extended upon application.

Existing International Tonnage Certificate
Existing SOLAS Certificates where applicable
Existing MARPOL Certificates where applicable
Existing Load Line Certificate
Proof of 3rd party liability insurance coverage
